Needlelaced Wire Sculptures

In these pieces, using extant garment patterns, fine-gauged wire is intricately stitched together with needle-laced techniques usually used with with thread. Delicate lattices form the shape of a garment after a body has worn out it’s original lines and seams. Fragile, ghostly and unexpectedly structural — shadow and light fill the empty spaces. Copper wires stitched this way suggests a porous relationship to memory: they fray, fold, and reveal new layers.
